Arhcery, Meeting and Notes to go out!

1st Meeting!

Y'all, thank you for those who came out to see what we will be all about!  We so much appreciated everyone being there. We got amazing ideas, and are working the class schedule for next Fall now. We will have it finalized within a month-ish...  pending us waiting on some additional information for a few classes.

Great things happened at the meeting!  If you would like a copy of the information that we discussed and what next Fall is shaping up to look like, please email us at machecoop1@gmail.com and we will get that sent out to you as soon as it is ready.

Archery...

Begins Tuesday 5/17  for ages 8 and up.

(This is not just for compound bows!!! ) See the website of this opportunity that we have this year!

SLA S3DA Archery Club
 Individual Archery

We are blessed for Straightline Archery to walk us through this amazing opportunity that we have for Archery this season.  Shelly and Randall are passionate about getting kiddo's involved with archery, and have been doing so for many years.  We have various skill levels of archers this year. Because of this we will be breaking into two groups, so that each group will have instruction specifically tailored to their current skill and can grow in their skill level. This club will be for kiddo's age 8 and above.  When someone is ready to move up, the instructors will come along side the parents to help with that transition!  We are all very excited!!!   Archery is a lifelong skill. It can improve on hand-eye coordination, concentration, and feeling of accomplishing a goal. (because even a seasoned archer has room to grow) This sport can take you around the world to compete at higher levels, gain college scholarships, and life long friendships. You can take this sport with you wherever you go, walk into a bow shop across the country and feel like you are at home. Archers are a great community to belong to. So welcome to the community!

Let's make this a fun and safe season!! Here are a few quick notes:

*We are working on setting up a parent meeting specifically for Archery safety, shop rules and how this season will go. Please be aware that Basic Shooters are not to be dropped off and left, we really need all eyes we can have on deck for this! Littles who are not shooting, need to stay in the seating area. This is for their safety and the archers concentration. (we have not had a problem with this in the past)
*Advanced shooters parents!! We would love and prefer for you to stay! Please consider staying if able for all or a part of the time, be aware we may be done early. Instructors phone numbers will be handed out at safety at the safety (since cell phones are not allowed on the range), range rules meeting, which a parent will be required to attend.

Basic Shooters:
Tuesdays 1-2pm at Straightline Arhcery in Ishpeming
Fees:  $15.00 a child yearly for membership in S3DA. This covers the basic liability of
hosting such a group, and will allow opportunities for our basics to be able to
compete in a way that is rewarding and encouraging.
Monthly Range Fees: Due the first Tuesday of the month.  This is a monthly, non prorated fee.  As before this was more an introductory to archery, but will also build skills towards moving up in the sport. This is a class designed with introduction, skill development, safety instructions leading into small positive competitions.
Tiered Scale: 1st child: 20.00
2nd child: 10.00
3+ children: 5.00

ie: If you have 5 kiddo's your range/instruction fees for the month will  be as follows:  1st: 20.00, 2nd 10.00, 3rd 5.00, 4th 5.00   5th 5.00 = $45.00

Advanced Shooters:
If you are in this group, you will be contacted. This is for those with experience, that really need their skills honed for competition level. When a child is ready to move to this level, we will know they have safety skills down pat, maturity is exhibited of an archer ready for additional instruction, and mastery of the basic shooting class is seen. All archers will reach this level at different times, and we are excited to help them start this leg of their journey.

Fees:  $15.00 a child yearly for membership in S3DA. This allows our kiddo's the opportunity to join competitions within this club, and our basic liability of hosting
such a group.
Monthly Range Fees: Due the first Tuesday of the month. These are not each time as we have had for the basic class before. This is a monthly, non prorated fee. This class will be digging into additional safety of 3D archery shooting, 3D archery skills, rules of 3D competition, honing an individuals skill. Each child advances at their own pace, and we will work with them to help achieve this.

Tiered Scale: 1st child: 20.00
2nd child: 10.00
3+ children: 5.00

ie: If you have 5 kiddo's your range/instruction fees for the month will  be as follows:  1st: 20.00, 2nd 10.00, 3rd 5.00, 4th 5.00   5th 5.00 = $45.00

*If you are at this level and do not have your own equipment, there
will be a rental for your archery equipment. The equipment  will
kept at the bow shop. *

Equipment Rental: $10.00 per child per month Due on 1st Tuesday

To keep the cost down for several things, we will be fundraising and writing grants. These grants and fundraising will cover items specifically for these areas:
*basic bows, beginner compound bows, quivers, adjustable releases for beginners archery    class to be kept at Straightline archery
*additional bow hanging stand for our archers bows at shop
*Volunteer Adults Training to coach these classes
*Targets for 3D archers
*possibly to help cover cost of uniforms
*additional equipment as it comes in need of replacement
*possibly to cover fees associated with competitions for archers
*anything additional related to this SLA S3DA club as the need arises

As you see above, we will need some additional adult volunteers to walk along side us and take a 8 hour coaching class. The cost per adult is $85.00 and the certification is for three years. This is something as a club we would like to cover, since this is volunteer!
Currently we have four volunteers to begin with, we would like to see at least 6 additional trained. This would cover us when others cannot be there. Of those four volunteers, our husbands work. So are only available  for weekends for sure, meaning competitions. I ask you to prayerfully consider this opportunity to step in with us. You do not have to be a professional archer, or even one at all. We will train you for what you need to know!!
